Where can I sell my stuff online?
Here are some details of places you can sell your stuff that does NOT include eBay. I am anti eBay please see my post: http://www.the-fly-on-the-wall.com/fun-gabby-personal/once-again-ebay-has-ticked-me-off
I have working knowledge of 3 places to sell stuff online that have shopping carts. Craigslist does not offer a shopping cart so I will not include them at all.
In no particle order they are:
1. http://www.etsy.com
2. http://www.blujay.com
3. http://www.bonanzle.com
Now the breakdown.
ETSY
Etsy has buyers and sellers in 150 countries and they have been around since 6-2005. Etsy is picked up well by the search engines and seems to be the best of the 3 in search engine finds. Their fees are easy and straight forward. The insertion fee is .20 cents per item with a final seller’s fee of 3.5% of the sale price. I personally have not sold here but have bought several items from sellers here and have had a positive experience each time.
BLUJAY
BluJay does not mention how long they have been around. However, BluJay is COMPLETELY free to use. No insertion fees and no seller fees. They do have a shopping cart like the other 2 so they aren’t skimping. On a search engine note they do not appear as easily on the search engines but given a little time they are picked up and I personally have sold a handful of items from BluJay. And did I mention they are totally FREE?
BONANZLE
Bonanzle seems to be the new kid on the block and have been around since 1-2007. But don’t let their newness fool you. They are picked up by the search engines decent enough and heck everyone there likes to buy stuff from each other too I personally still have a store here because they have a great group and I sell small and large stuff equally here. These people mean business and the group is constantly growing and evolving. They have no listing fee but do have a sliding scale for the final sale price. Sliding scale is as follows:
• <$10.00 = .50 cent final fee / a sale of $9 would be .05%
• <$50.00 = $1.00 final fee / a sale of $49 would be .02%
• <$100.00 = $3.00 final fee / a sale of $99 would be .03%
• <$1000.00 = $5.00 final fee / a sale of $999 would be .005%
• >$1000.00 = $10.00 final fee / a sale of $1000 would be .01%
NOTE: percentage breakdown is estimates and will fluctuate due to rounding and actual sale price.
So who should you use? Heck use all 3. They are all cheap and have great features of their own and it sure beats giving eBay your hard earned dough. Remember, eBay has been beating down the little guys for a long time and people are fed up so take your business elsewhere.
I hope this helps a little in finding a place to sell your wares. In this economy every penny saved is definitely a penny earned and needed.
Happy Selling!
