Still working on DoFollow…..

UPDATE: My Alexa ranking is climbing and now I am on Page 1 of Nick’s DoFollow list.

I am still very new to the DoFollow blogging set but I can already see benefits. DoFollow bloggers seem to be a very proactive group in that these followers are serious about blogging. They are very helpful in checking my blog for me, offering comments and suggestions and genuinely seem to care about me and my blog.

Granted I am getting more of the creepy spam but it’s not a big deal to monitor at the moment.

So I am off to continue my work on the DoFollow movement of my blog. As well, I best be off to see some of my friends at BlogCatalog, they have been so kind and supportive.

What do you mean creepy spam? Sometimes I get comments in Chinese linking to...I didn't know such sites existed in China. Imagine if you turned comment moderation off and left your blog for a year...Then you'd be creeped out by spam!

My Do Follow detector shows this site as a No Follow.

Have you changed your policy?

Our site is definitely Do Follow. You can check it.

However, I can tell you absolutely that as your site now stands, you are not part of the Do Follow consortium.

Beth, no I have not changed my policy. I will look at comments in the code and make sure plug in is working properly.

PS I am so sorry but I think I deleted one more comment you had about my chicken recipe because now I don't see it. Darn it! I apologize. At least it think it was you :)

UPDATE: Beth I did double check and the 2 comments you made with the name Beth Charette@legosets are showing as DoFollow as they are highlighted blue. I use the NoDoFollow 1.1 plugin for Firefox. What are you using? :) I am no pro at this and maybe I am reading something wrong. Please enlighten.

I expect that do follow does encourage comments- and you have the ultimate power to accept or delete comments. I'm a technophobe but I imagine that do follow helps in page ranking based on what you're saying about your blog's page rank!

Have you tried squidoo? You could turn some of your content into squidoo "lenses" (mini sites) and gain an even higher page rank.

Oh I like to think my do follow is helping so will keep at it :)

I haven't really tried the Squidoo pages as I didn't really thing my info would be all the interesting to read and well don't really know how to set it up for my readers.... I will have to go read your site to see if it helps me understand it better.

I also think that you will experience that most people will contribute constructively in a dofollow. Anyways, the spammers can be deleted easily and the bottom line is that you win more than loose in the end.
