I’m liking Windows 7!

Post image for I’m liking Windows 7!

Well after a week with my new laptop and fiddling with adding my old software and such I have determined I do really like Windows 7.  Granted not all my programs will work with Windows 7 but most do have new drivers and downloads available online to make them work :)

So what do I like about Windows 7?

  • It’s lightening fast
  • The libraries are great for organization
  • The Pin feature for the task bar is super cool.  1 click opens up the programs I use most, ie:  Firefox, Outlook, Music & the Explorer
  • It has great little features that I can’t really explain.  Like plugging in a gadget in a USB port brings up cool stuff that I never seen on XP.
  • The task bar, when hovering over, will show all windows open for that item.  Like the Firefox will show all my windows open if I hover over it then I can pick the one I want.
  • The more I use Windows 7 the more I find more features I like

Things I don’t like about Windows 7 are not many.

  • Windows Media Player 12 won’t rip music for MP3 players and downgrading to WP11 is not an easy task so had to find other software.
  • A bit of a learning curve but really not that bad, just caught me at a bad time.
  • Had a hard time finding the defrag, found it in the properties of the drive and tools area.

So from what I have read and heard I am very happy I have Windows 7 and not Vista.  Yeah!  Upgrading my computer system was not by choice but I was forced to from my own stupidity!  Oh well, I have always been slow at the upgrading of the Windows platforms, I use what I have until I have to upgrade hee hee.  I remember 3.0, ME and 2000 well!  I had only been using XP for a couple of years and again that was a forced upgrade.

Anyway, upgrading is not all bad especially if you don’t do it the minute the new product comes out as bugs and complaints haven’t been reported yet.

Would I recommend Windows 7?  Oh yeah!  Very nice design, very efficient and once learned makes sense from the organization stand point.

Til next time.

Investment, Yeah, I noticed the linked together screens too. And to view one you view them all, is kind of a pain. Yep, I am glad I upgraded to Windows.

Appreciate the visit and keep your eyes on work, not the pretty scenery *wink*

Tell me about it! I get Windows 7 at work and I love the gorgeous backgrounds of pretty scenery… It can keep me entertained for a very long time. Not only that but Windows 7 seems to be very organized in a way that works… The only thing I really didn’t like about it was that if you open up multiple screens of the same application it isn’t spread across the entire bottom toolbar but instead just linked together. That’s kind of annoying when I have to switch back and forth.

Windows 7 simplifies everyday tasks ,64-bit support, its more personal, performance upgrades……it has remote media streaming and remote touch……

Ah glad to have a Mac reader :) I have been unable to make the switch so gotta love what I work with or at least like it a little. But like I said Windows 7 seems to be the best I’ve used so far. And oh I hate them crashes.

Thanks for visiting. Come by again soon.

I’ve always been a Mac man myself, I gotta give windows credit though they finally made a good interface and it doesn’t seem to crash, however its about time because Macintosh has been doing this for years!!!
