Free faxing services online

Oh I love free services especially the ones that do what they promise they do.

Do you need some faxing ability online that is totally free? Well you are in luck. I have 2 services that I have been using and use every month without any fees and no problems. I also found a 3rd site that I just signed up with and I am happy to report they work just as they promise to and in fact deliver my faxes quicker than my current free service.

#1 RECEIVING faxes for FREE:   This company I have been using for almost 3 years without a hitch.  I used their service to receive all our mortgage documents when buying a home with my husband in MO and me in IL.  We had no problems what so ever but watch the limit if using for mortgage stuff as it adds up quickly.  Faxes are received via email.  They do have some rules and guidelines you must follow to use their free service and here they are:

eFax Free®: eFax Free includes but is not limited to a remote eFax Number that provides for the delivery of a limited number of faxes to email. See the Fair Usage Policy in Section 4, below. eFax Free is hereinafter referred to as “Free” or “Free Service”.

YOU UNDERSTAND THAT THE FREE SERVICE IS SUBJECT TO j2 GLOBAL’S “FAIR USE” POLICY FOR FREE ACCOUNTS. YOU WILL BE IN VIOLATION OF THIS POLICY IF, WITHIN ANY THIRTY (30) DAY PERIOD, YOU RECEIVE MORE THAN TWENTY (20) FAX PAGES, EXCLUDING ALL ADVERTISING OR INFORMATIONAL MESSAGES SENT TO YOU DIRECTLY BY J2 GLOBAL, AS DETERMINED BY US IN OUR SOLE DISCRETION.

My only problem with this service is to view the faxes you MUST download software to view it, no getting around this.  Here is the direct link to receive FREE faxes.  Do NOT go to their regular website or you will not find the free fax service as they only promote their fee services.

#2 SENDING faxes for FREE: This company offers a great service of sending faxes for free online.  You simply scan your documents and your ready to go.  I have been using this service for over a year now and love it.  Their sending limit is small but hey, it works and it’s free so not really a problem.  Here are the rules:

Fax a .DOC, .DOCX, or .PDF file:  (Maximum 1 file per fax.)  Or Enter Text to Fax:  Add an attachment OR type in this box.  You cannot send both in the same fax

#3 RECEIVE faxes for FREE (and is also a free voice mail): This is the 3rd company I mentioned that is new to me but I gave it a good testing to see how well it works.  Well I am very, very happy with this service and will probably switch to using this service to receive my free faxes   Why?  I get my faxes a whole lot faster via email and I do not have to download any software to view the faxes.  The faxes can come to the user via email as a .wav or .tif file.   This company also has a great FAQ section to answer all your questions.

Now as far as I can tell this service has no rules as for a receiving limit WOO HOO!  However, they will only store 20 messages or faxes and if you get number 21 the oldest will be deleted.  Big deal!   If they are coming to your email you should be saving or deleting them there.

So are there any cons?  Well not really unless you are really picky about what state your free fax number is from.  You can only get a fax number from Seattle WA.  Not a problem for me.  I always tell the sender ahead of time that this is my faxing service online so they are not concerned that the number is not from the state I live in.  No one has denied sending me a fax yet!  Oh I remembered this may be considered a con for some people.  The service MUST be used at least once every 30 days or they will delete the account and you will have to sign up again.  This really isn’t a problem, just call yourself and leave yourself a lovey dovey message   Problem solved!
