I recently received a comment from a fellow blogger “Hi Fly. I cannot understand the reason you are making some comment links dofollow and some nofollow. Is there any special discrimination on some commenters?”
And to help answer the question here is an excerpt of how I have DoFollow set up on my blog:
****This is a plugin by: NoFollow Free Plugin. It doesn’t mean that your author link will immediately have the “nofollow” tag removed from them, but it does mean that it will be removed from frequent visitors. If you post 2 or more comments on The Fly On The Wall, you will have the rel=nofollow attribute removed. I will watch this 2 limit closely and if used improperly I will raise the number. (ADDED: this little section is not meant for my current friends/bloggers. You guys/gals are great. It’s more to let the crazy spammers out there know they are being watched 
) I want to show more “blog love” to all my readers/friends and commenter’s for visiting and commenting on my site regularly.****

Thanks for the visit. I actually guess I assumed people commenting on DoFollow blogs would know that some DoFollow blogs would have a certain number set to become DoFollow. My mistake on that
I personally don’t expect to see DoFollow immediately but after a few visits I am tickled when I do…..

I now understand what your No Follow policy is. However, as you can see from the need for you to explain, the Do Follow community will not understand this policy.
Unless one knows your criteria, why would one return?
It was only because I stayed around a few extra minutes and saw this explanation that I will now return to comment on this very good blog.
This is my second comment on your blog, so when I do return, hopefully I will see that the No Follow signals have been removed from my comments.

I went and made my blog completely do follow…any spam i get seems to be on much older posts which is where I have comment mod enabled on all posts over 2 weeks…being on blogspot and having friends that have blogs self hosted or on type pad or word press this change made it much easier for them…I was just proud of myself that i actually figured out the code and implemented it properly…lol
