What do our dreams really mean?

I don’t know what my dreams really mean and I have no desire to analyze my dreams because I know my dreams are my sub conscience’s way of processing life for me.  I am a BIG dreamer.  I sleep best when I dream a lot.  I can remember dreaming back when I was a youngster.

Specifically, I had a recurring dream starting around age 10 to sometime in high school when it disappeared.  My dream came to me every year around the same time, meaning same month of every year that I can remember.  The month was August.  Let me explain a bit.  I am a chatty little thing.  Our daughter is exactly the same way.  Yes you can blame me for that.  I talked to her while in my tummy and from the moment she came out boy she could hold a conversation when she was little.  Was really cute but I feel for the man she is marrying, hee hee.

Okay, so here I am an animated little petite chatterbox and every year in August I would have the most serene dream imaginable.  This is the only dream I could never remember anything about .  I simply woke with the most peaceful feeling in my life.  And the day after the dream I would have absolutely no desire to talk, not to anyone.  It was a quite day for me.  I was content, I was happy, I was taking in all of mother nature.  I couldn’t explain it.  Everyone would always ask me what’s wrong and nothing was ever wrong but for some reason after my serene dream I wanted peace and to be left alone with quiet all around.  I remember walking around my neighborhood without a destination, just walking.  Those dreams abruptly stopped sometime late in high school.  I don’t even know exactly when.

My mind is so animated and vivid when I am sleeping.  I remember most of my dreams.  And some nights I have so many exciting dreams I could write a book about them.  In my dreams I am the bad guy stopper!  I always wanted to be a PI but never pursued it as I am only 4′ 11″ and well didn’t figure I could stop anyone unless I shot their butts :)   But in my dreams I get the satisfaction of catching killers and maniacs and such.

My dreams take many forms.  They sometimes mix up actual events that then become one, such as dreaming of my childhood, but my house is not the house I grew up in, it would be a house I have never seen before and as a child  my child “our daughter” would also be in my dream but I am still a child so that one is odd to me.  I could go on and on about some really weird dreams but I wouldn’t want to bore you.

For me I have noticed I will dream about things that are lacking in my life, things I have done in the past, things that never happened, things I may do in my life one day and every freaky thing in between.

I know my dreams have meaning to my brain, I just don’t know what and don’t really care.  I enjoy my dreams, including the scarier than crap dreams.  I even repeat dreams just not like I did with the once a year dream as a child.  I simply have the same dream I have already had and I remember it quite vividly and can picture one such dream now.

So to those who really need to know what your dreams really mean, good luck figuring that one out.  I don’t see how it can really be helpful.  Our dreams while we sleep are just that.  Our brain is overloaded with info, is freeking out, and crossing bits of info to make life fun and interesting.  Enjoy your active mind and…….

Keep Dreaming!

Oh you two are like hubby and me. I remember 90% of mine and he doesn’t remember his but he actually thinks he doesn’t have very many but I would bet he does. Yep, I’ll give you points for being a day dreamer cause this house is full of day dreamers :) PS I don’t ever recall ever having a black and white dream but I never really thought about it. Will have to pick my brain after my next cool dream. Now you got me wondering….. Thanks for stopping by.

My wife has incredible dreams and remembers 90% of them. I on the other hand also have many dreams but unless I wake up in the middle of it, I don’t remember any of them.

I also always wondered the age old question “Do you have color or black & white dream?” Of course seeing how I never remember any one them, then I can’t even answer this question.

I guess I am a pathetic dreamer, at night, but I am a great day dreamer does that count????
