OMG! I am toxic!

The other day I stumbled upon a blog that talked about a website: http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com Now I don’t remember the blog but I promise if I stumble across it I will give them credit where credit is due :)

Anyway, so I decided to go grab 10 products in my cabinet, but during the grab spree I thought I better start with 4 cause I may be here all night. So I grab my 4 cosmetics products and off to the computer I go. I copied/pasted all info as I went along.

  1. Blistex Medicated Ointment
  2. Olay Reginerist Night Recovery Moisturizing treatment
  3. Suave Advanced Therapy with Multi-vitamin & Glycerin
  4. Nioxin Volumizing Reflectives Thickening Spray

Now my products immediately give away a snippet of me personally. Notice all my products have something in common. I have dry skin. Holy crap I am dry, dry, dry. Did I mention I was dry? Okay, you get the point. Note #4 the thickening spray does have to do with dryness as my hair is dry and therefore it breaks easily and is fairly thin. So pump up the volume :)

Okay now for the results. I was so shocked and came away from this experiment realizing I am toxic.

So what does all this tell me?  It tells me I need to change products.  But if all of my friends and readers are like me, money doesn’t grow on trees around here.

So what will I do?  Well for now I will simply finish off my products as I can’t afford to replace them all at the same time.  But as I do replace them I will be visiting http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com to see if I can find some safer products that do the same thing.  I can research online, write down a few on my shopping list then off to the store I go.

Now what the heck will I do about all the household products.  UGH!  I feel like our house is a toxic waste site that will burst into flames with me in it any moment.

What an eye opener that site was for me.  Time to make some changes.

Well thank you for your kind words. The hard part is keeping up with my brain, even my mouth stumbles cause I can’t talk fast enough. I guess my brain is overactive and out spurts funny, silly stuff. So I write like I talk, glad to make you giggle.

Oh I hope so to, dry skin is more of a pain than oily skin, itchy and I become charged with electricity easily so I zap hubby, puppy and my self often. Talk about a lightening bolt kiss, makes us both yell ouch and laugh.

Thanks for visiting and come back often. :)

I can’t help to laugh!

I love to read what you write… as you have a very good ‘ole jolly sense of humor! :)

I hope you finally, finally, finally find the right dry-skin-fixing thing for you, dear! :)

Hi and thanks for stopping by. I am glad you found the site useful. Some things we will not be able to avoid but if we can others all the better for our health I am sure.
