Have you Winterized your “toys” yet? For those of us that have “toys” it is that time of year again. I hate it when Fall comes because it also means the end of our summertime fun camping or playing on the lake. The snow and ice keeps us indoors more time than I like and I miss the warmth and the sun.
So what do you do to Winterize your things? Not only do we drain our water tanks and hoses but we also take the time to clean them up.
- Wash down everything
- vacuum
- take food out of the cabinets
- cover up
- stuff them back towards the back yard
- check the propane tanks (we use our camper heater & stove in emergency when power goes out).
This truly is a lot of work but it’s much nicer to pull out the camper and boat
come spring time and jump right in to play.
Don’t forget to Winterize your vehicles.
This is my hubby’s checklist every year:
- changes tires
- checks tire pressure
- check all belts
- check wiper blades
- fills all fluids especially window washing fluid
- adds scrapers and things to all the cars
- checks the batteries to insure cables are clean (this is what gets people the most, their battery cables have a bad connection due to corrosion)
- and anything else he can think of
It is quite a chore and something he is going to get to pass off on his soon to be son-in-law as our daughter’s car will become his responsibility. She is but a snip of a thing and can’t do most of it herself and well for some reason our men actually seem to take this job seriously. Lucky for us gals. But we take care of plenty of other stuff they don’t like too so fair is fair.
Anyway, be safe for the winter and take care when driving.

Yes, I agree. I do try to comment on most comments that are left but some do fall through the cracks. Thanks for the visit and I hope you come back soon.
Very shorts, simple and easy to understand, bet some more comments from your side would be great
I just love summer time. Its really nice to feel the sun on your face. but winter is also not bad. You get to play in the snow and make snow angels. I love to watch little children play in the snow. But with winter comes a lot of work which you have mentioned in your post. Good post and have a great winter season ahead.
